Privacy Policy
BioDOE ("BioDOE," "we," "us," or "our") is based at 502 W 7th St, STE 100, Erie, PA 16502. This policy explains what data we collect when you use biodoe.com, why we collect it, and how it's handled.
1. Information we collect

2. Where your experiment data actually lives
Where your experiments are stored depends on whether you're signed in:
- Signed out: your factor definitions, design matrices, and results stay entirely in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers. We don't have a copy and can't retrieve them if you clear your browser data — and nothing is synced anywhere else.
- Signed in: your experiments are stored in our database (Supabase), tied to your account, so they follow you across devices — the same design you built on desktop shows up if you sign in on your phone. The first time a browser with existing local-only experiments signs in, those experiments are uploaded to your account automatically, one time, so nothing already created is left behind.
- Either way, when you click Generate Design Matrix, Run Analysis, or Split into Blocks, the relevant factor/response values are sent to our backend server to perform the calculation (design generation, ANOVA, or optimization) and the result is returned to your browser.
3. Third parties we use
We rely on a small number of service providers to run BioDOE. We don't sell your data to anyone.
- Supabase — authentication and our account/billing database.
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Stripe's own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment details.
- Render — hosts our backend server that performs design generation and statistical analysis.
- Hostinger — hosts the biodoe.com website itself.
- Google Fonts, jsDelivr, and Plotly CDNs — deliver static assets (fonts, icons, charting library). As with any CDN, these providers may log your IP address when your browser fetches these files.
4. Cookies and local storage
BioDOE doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Our authentication provider (Supabase) uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits, and Stripe may set its own cookies during the checkout process when you upgrade to Pro.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and billing information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your account, billing, usage records, and any experiments stored in our database within 30 days, except where we're required to retain billing records for tax or legal purposes. Experiment data kept only in your browser's local storage (while signed out) is never on our servers in the first place — clearing it is entirely in your control via your browser.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the account data we hold about you at any time by emailing info@biodoe.com. You can also cancel your subscription at any time from within the app.
7. Children's privacy
BioDOE is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of BioDOE after a change means you accept the updated policy.
