Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BioDOE ("BioDOE," "we," "us," or "our"), a web application based at 502 W 7th St, STE 100, Erie, PA 16502. By creating an account or using BioDOE, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use BioDOE.
1. What BioDOE is
BioDOE is a no-code Design of Experiments tool that helps you build experimental designs (screening, response-surface, and split-plot layouts) and run statistical analysis (ANOVA, effect estimation, and optimization) on your results.
2. Accounts
- You must provide an accurate email address to create an account and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
- You must be legally able to enter into a contract to use BioDOE.
3. Plans and billing
- Starter (free): includes a limited number of designs and analyses per calendar month, described on our pricing page.
- Pro (paid): unlocks unlimited designs/analyses and additional features, billed on a recurring basis through Stripe.
- You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from within the app; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and we don't provide refunds for partial periods.
- We may change plan pricing or features going forward, but not for a billing period you've already paid for — we'll give notice before any price change affecting your renewal.
4. Your data and content
- You own the factors, responses, and results you enter into BioDOE.
- Your experiment data is stored locally in your browser and is not saved on our servers (see our Privacy Policy for details) — you're responsible for exporting or backing up anything you don't want to lose.
- By submitting data to generate a design or run an analysis, you grant us a limited license to process that data solely to return the result to you.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to bypass usage limits, security controls, or feature gates;
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell access to BioDOE;
- Use BioDOE for any unlawful purpose or to submit data you don't have the right to use;
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
6. Intellectual property
BioDOE's software, design, and branding are owned by us. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond what's needed to use the service as intended.
7. Disclaimers
BioDOE is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or that results will be error-free or uninterrupted.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of BioDOE, including decisions made based on its statistical output. Our total liability for any claim relating to BioDOE is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using BioDOE and delete your account at any time.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of BioDOE after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
